Read that you should open t&p valve once a year, haven't done it in years. Did it. Bad idea. Slowly drips now. I want to replace it but I've never drained the water heater, has a shitty plastic drain valve so worried it would get clogged with sediment or break. Could you technically (after setting to pilot over night, turning off cold water supply line, opening a hot water faucet) remove the valve quickly with a replacement ready and someone holding a bin underneath?
